Thanks Todd...this little guy was fun to paint. Like the little plastic farm animals, I may have to paint another army guy. With these last few paintings I've posted, I feel I have almost mastered the ability to show no direction whatsoever in my artwork!
Great blog. Great art. This painting makes me morn the lost green army guys of my youth. All got a firecracker under the arm one 4th of July and you know the rest.
It's all starting to look like a toy story to me...I mean, I need my 9 year old to look at this one, he'll love it! What about the parachuting army dude? I love the title, too! Awsome job!

Thanks Robert! Yes, such a natural combo: army men and firecrackers. Seems I lost a few hotwheels to firecrackers too.

Cool painting - I like the way you set him against the serene blue background, kind of paradoxical.
Nice outline of the figure, your painting gives me an appreciation for the actual sculpture. Nice one!
