Hi Todd--

I recently discovered your blog, and just wanted to let you know that I think you are doing some excellent painting. How you find the energy after teaching high school kids all day is beyond me. I also am a high school art teacher (former illustrator--20 years), and by the end of the day I am BEAT! Then again, I think I am a good bit older than you.

I checked out your school's art department website-- it looks like you have a very strong program there.

I would like to invite you to check out my blog, and also to take a look at the 2D Art page at my school, Arts Academy in the Woods (link on my page), located in suburban Detroit.

Again, outstanding work-- definitely well above what I have seen from most art teachers in K-12.

All the best--

Rick

p.s. You have been added to the list of art blog links on my page.

Hey Rick,

Thanks for the compliments! Many late nights in the studio is the only way I am able to paint...and lots of coffee in the mornings!
We're proud of our art dept. too. Each year I am always amazed at the new talented and dedicated art students that we get. By the way, in addition to teaching Art1 and Painting II/III, I also teach 2D design. We offer AP Studio Art, and I teach the 2D and drawing portfolio. One of my AP students received a scholarship to and is now attedning Pratt(I'm still bragging about how proud I am of her!)
Anyway, thanks for the kind words..it's also nice to touch base with another art educator!

Todd
